Hi,

The day is finally here!!!! I am going on vacation.  Yayyy!!!!  I will be away for a few days, but hopefully I will get to post tomorrow's, April "What the Heck is that Thing" photo.  I can't believe it is April already.  After that, I will catch up posting when I get back.  Hopefully I will be able to share a few images from my trip.  Everyone have a great few days and I will catch you when I get back.

Today's image was a little cardinal.  This little fellow was so fast and I kept chasing after it trying to get a picture.  It finally sat still long enough for me to get this.  A little blurry, but I can't complain.

Ok, it is wildlife time.  This image was taken up in Fishing Creek at Felicita.  I was just driving around the property (because it is pretty) and saw this crane fishing in the pond (I think its a crane).  I pulled off to the side of the road and started shooting.  What an elegant bird.

Here is yet another image taken in downtown Harrisburg.  This was in the lobby of Temple University (I think). The security guard found it quite amusing that I walked into the lobby and the only picture I took was of the ceiling. lol  I kind of fell in love with the geometric shapes the ceiling had to offer.  :)

Hi Again,

Today's image was also taken in downtown Harrisburg.  I usually don't have many issues when roaming around photographing.  This day a few high school kids thought they would harass me a little. Nothing too bad just kids trying to show off for each other. I responded by giving them a few life lessons that I believe they will not forget without ever losing my temper or using any foul language.  It is kind of interesting that when you hold up a mirror to the face of evil, the reflection just may make it take a different course of action.

     This dance year has been amazing so far.  Over the past few years we have had some former students expressing interest in dancing again. I was secretly very excited but did not want to get my hopes up.  Well....I have been so happy to welcome back some of those wonderful students over the past few years.  Some have not danced for twenty years or more.  So many people get caught up in age and it being too late to do this or start that.  Well, it is never too late to do what you love.  Just get out there and do it.  Filling those quiet dreams and desires can only lead to a more well-rounded person and a happier lifestyle.

Hello,
     This is another image I took on City Island in Harrisburg, Pa.  While I was walking along, I saw these teal glasses.  I thought they looked cool so I took a picture.  While I was preparing it, I converted it to black and white and really liked it.  If you would like to see this image in color, just leave a comment and I will post it.  This will be included in my fine art portfolio.  This is a genre that I have recently gotten very excited about.  It really allows me to tear things apart to find the inner beauty of objects that may not easily be seen otherwise.

Hello,

     I started my new class "studio photography".  After a very stressful beginning (my company not shipping key pieces so that I could use my lights) I finally got to shoot my first assignment.  As I have never used these types of lights before, it was a learning experience just to get started.  After watching many tutorials on how to even set up the lights and get the right connections, I finally got the hang of it.  I wanted to share one of the images from my first assignment "Stopping Motion"  I still have a ways to go, but I was pretty pleased.

Hello Everyone,

     Ok, so I was walking along Italian Lake in Harrisburg, Pa. and I came upon this sweet little setting.  The flowers are trying so hard to be born, and the last bit of winter is preparing for it's hibernation.  I kept thinking how pretty this would be for a location shot, so I took it so that I would remember.  Well, with or without a person in the shot, I fell in love with this image. It reminded me of something I would see in a calender or a piece that could be sold as artwork, so I placed a filter on top to make it appear more like a painting.

     I can't tell you how excited I am to be able to walk outside, listen to the birds, and just feel wonderful.  Winter is so painful for me.  I am always cold, and my body hurts so bad.  Spring begins my healing process and I am so grateful to have been able to see yet another one.

     Today's image is of a lock.  Yep, you heard me right, a lock.  I took this image to represent the things that bind us.  Finances, family, weight, work, anything that makes you feel like you are stuck.  Now imagine breaking that lock, smashing it to smithereens.  You can do it.  I know you can.  Start small.  Just break one lock.  Then another, and another, until you are free.  Let's break those locks together.

Hello,

Today's image was taken right in my own backyard, literally.  I used a shallow dept of field which means I made the background fuzzy.  This helps make the moss pop.  This is just another sign that spring is coming.  Yayyy!!!!  Can you tell I love spring?

This is a picture I took on City Island.  I didn't have my telephoto lens on when I saw the fattest little squirrel sitting on this bench.  I was afraid too move to much so that he didn't run away.  I took my chances and shot with my 50mm lens.  He is still a little hard to see, but I got him.  Can you find him?

Hi Again,
I have not shot a lot of architecture.  But once in a while when I take a walk, something catches my eye.  I often do special effects like selective coloring.  Here, I found a building that had that effect naturally.  The neutral color of the building, made the blue window pop even more. I also love the conflicting textures of the building and the window.

Today's image is of a little plant (don't know what it is called).  I was drawn to this plant because of the water droplets.  There I go again, being distracted by pretty sparkly things.  lol  It is a good thing that the couple that I was photographing were so understanding and kind enough to let me follow up on my distractions once in a while.  If anyone knows what this is called, please let me know.  I have hundreds of pictures of flowers and I think it is important that I know what kind they are.

Wow,

It is March already.  It is hard to believe that I have been at this for two whole months.  I have been late posting a few times, but I managed to have a picture for every day so far.  I have to say, I am pretty pleased with myself.  I am slowly seeing so many changes in my life.  This little project of mine is keeping me accountable in so many other aspects of my life.  It's a good thing.  :)   This is one of my favorite pictures.  While shooting for one of my classes, I came across these two ducks having a conversation.  Well...things started to get a little heated between them and before I knew it, one duck chased the other into the river and off they went.  This was another picture that just cracked me up.  Especially since I saw how it all unfolded.

Well....It seems as if I have fallen behind a bit.  It is the end of my semester and for some reason that means a lot of homework in a very short period of time.  But....it's all good.  I thought I would post some of my favorite pictures from last year.  The first is another picture I took at Lake Tobias last summer.  This little cow was willing to do just about anything for a cracker.  He practically bent his tongue around a corner to reach this cracker.  lol  It just cracked me up.

Hello,

Well....as I sit in my big, blue, comfy chair, I am gazing out of the window and I am drawn to these sparkly little drops.  I try to do my homework but I am completely distracted.  I go outside and notice these beautiful beads of water drops all over the trees and the railings.  Of course I had to get my camera and take pictures.  This image is one of my rail.  It was still pouring so I used my telephoto lens so that my equipment could remain dry. I converted it to black and white and added a blue tint because it reminded me of water.  Hope you enjoy!!!
