Here is yet another picture of my backyard. I am usually just minding my own business, and the next thing I know, I am laying on the ground taking a picture of ??????, I don't know, but I am always happy with whatever it is that called me to shoot it. In this case, it looks like a tiny little meadow right in my own backyard. lol
I had to get this shot on the run. At first, I thought I was being paranoid, a truck was following me from a well-known state park for a few miles, but it turns out that I was really being followed. I guess the truck driver did not appreciate my taking pictures of nature in his neck of the woods. Oh well, I jumped out of the car, got the shot, hopped back in and headed straight home. Let me be clear, I did not hold up traffic, I always pulled over before getting out to shoot, and I did not step foot on anyone's property. Oh well, go figure. At least I am safe!!!!
I caught this crow stealing a cheese puff in the Turkey Hill parking lot. It was so nice of him to sit and pose for this shot. When I tried to get closer, he flew away. I hope he enjoyed his snack. lol
Meet Michaele, This pic helped me out with my head shot assignment. Michaele has been modeling for me for the past fifteen years. She is a joy to work with and absolutely gorgeous. Her beautiful face and piercing eyes always make her images memorable. Thanks Mishi!!!
Now... one would think that "I am a photographer, so I should have my camera with me at all times" Well... I find that I forget to carry my camera from time to time. I shot this pic from my phone. It's not like my other images in quality, but I think it did pretty good in a pinch. What do you think?
This is a location shot. Thank you Ms. Stephanie for tipping me on this beautiful location. I tried to get there before the fog left the lake, but as you can see, it was slowly moving off to the right by the time I got there. Even without the fog, it is beautiful.
This was the start of my Victorian Themed images. This was a group, themed portrait. On the hottest day of the year, these wonderful sisters agreed to model for me. Of all of the images I submitted for class, my professor loved this one most. These young ladies put up with me a lot this day and I am forever grateful for it. Thank you Taya, Olivia, Willow, Bailey, and Avalyna.
Thanks Nivashi and Ms. "Twig" for making the beautiful dresses. You will see in the upcoming weeks that they were used a lot as I continued to work and perfect my Victorian styled images.
Aww Ameera, you will get to know this young lady very well. If I need a volunteer for a shoot, she is the first one to raise her hand. She has endured some very long shoots and she ends the day still smiling and still volunteering. Keep watching, she is going to be famous some day.
Now, many of you are probably saying, what the heck. Why is the woman showing a picture of a bee. Well, let me tell you. On this day, I was attacked by what I fondly call "KILLER BEES". lol I can laugh about it now, but not then. It was the craziest thing ever. Trying to get to my house from my car I was stung at least three times in my head. When I realized that I didn't have my house key, I tried to get back to my car and walked right into a swarm of bees. These bees were on a mission to sting me as much as possible. I stopped counting at ten stings. I panicked because I am allergic to bees.
Not sure what happened, but I had no swelling , but I did have the internal, muscle joint pain for about a week or so after. I am blessed that I am still here, but from now on, I will avoid these little critters whenever possible.
Her is a little cutey patutey!!!! Xyeon represented my "child" portrait shoot. She comes in to class to wait on her brother and I ask if she will let me shoot her. She says yes, and I couldn't have been more pleased. What a beautiful child. Thanks sweetie!!!
Here in my full length shoot. I had to do five or six different models. Tianna is rocking the business attire look. She manages to look both strong, powerful and elegant at the same time. "You go girl" :)
Meet Alexus, she was my teen inspiration in the multi-aged portrait shoot. What a fun shoot this was. She looks like a young teenager heading off to school. Alexus is proving to be a natural when it comes to modeling. I look forward to working with her again.
Ok, back to my portraits class. Here is Brandi, (Stubby) for those who know her. She helped me with my full length portrait shoot. Anyone who knows Stubby, knows that she is a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl. I felt so honored that she would slip on this beautiful gown to help me out with my assignment. Whether jeans, a gown, or a tutu, this young lady is always beautiful!!!
Meet Kenyon! This is a young man that I hope to work with again very often. Here again, is an environmental shot showing off one of his many hobbies. He was so professional and easy to work with. We will probably see him in a magazine some day!!!! If not for modeling, then as an athlete. This young man has a multitude of talents.
Meet Tianna, another portrait model. This was an environmental, outdoor location. I was so glad that she was willing to sit through her car window. It helped to pull in the greens in the background giving the image a little more dimension. Such a beautiful young lady!!!!
This month I am adding a mish mosh of images. Forgive me for jumping all over the place, but here it goes. This is Melanie, she modeled for my portraits class. This assignment, I had to show what the model was all about along with classic portrait lighting. Can you guess what she loves to do?
