Hello,

Today's image is of another very special gift I received.  As an introductory to my latest class, we had to share a mugshot. So, I took a picture of my favorite mug.  This is a Canon lens mug, much like the one I really own.  My wonderful staff member and friend gave this to me for Christmas last year.  I don't know where she got it, but I just thought it was the coolest thing.  Thank you Michelle (notice I didn't use your nickname lol).  Ok...back to my assignment.  I uploaded my mugshot, and my class and professor thought it was hilarious.  After that, everyone posted a picture of their favorite mug in place of their "face shot"

I love patterns and textures.  People think I am crazy when they see me stop, bend over, and shoot something they don't think is there.  Usually, I am shooting fabric or an interesting texture, or a bug. lol  This image is of a beautiful patterned scarf.  Sometimes I even take these patterns and create backgrounds from them.

Hello Everyone,

I have gotten a little behind because of school and teaching dance, but I will catch up today.  Today's image is a sweet little figurine given to me by one of my students that I affectionately call Mel G.  She may never know how many times this little dancer has gotten me an "A" in homework assignments.  I have used it to show depth of field, different lighting situations, and color schemes.  Each time I have used it I have received good comments and good grades.  I thought it was time to take it out of the "classroom" and into my blog.  lol  Thank you Mel G. for giving me my sweet little dancer.

I was walking outside around the studio shooting images for a class when I came upon these lonely little sneakers.  Even though it had nothing to do with my shoot, I felt compelled to shoot them.  Now, I wonder who they belong to. Hello,

Just wanted to give a shout out to one of my little kitties.  Little Miss Indigo just turned three years old.  She is a feisty, little black bundle of mischief.  Her favorite pass time is dragging everything she can carry in her mouth all around the house.  This includes my socks, my niece's toys, make up brushes and the list goes on and on.  She knocks over everything that is not nailed down and she gets into everything she is not supposed to get into.   I love this little cat so much.  She loves spending her time at my feet, on my lap, on my shoulder and on my neck.  She loves to give kisses and hugs.  Happy Birthday Indigo!!!!!!!

Ok, I am getting a little antsy about spring.  I thought I would drop a few hints to the weather angels by posting this beautiful water lily.  I shot this at Lake Tobias (of all places) last summer.  I experimented a little bit with overlaying a soft hint of white to soften the image.  Come on Spring......I miss you!!!!

Hi,

This is an image that I took last year.  It is a barn near my house and I have passed it several times.  One day I just stopped and took this picture.  There is something about this abandoned building that has a certain charm to it.  It really doesn't look like it belongs in the neighborhood where it stands, but it stands tall and proud going against the grain.  A fine example of self confidence.  lol

Hello,

I am the first to say that I am easily distracted by beautiful things.  The thing that gets me is what constitutes as beautiful to me.  It can be a child's smile, a beautiful sunset, or unusual textures.  This picture caught my eye while I was slicing it for a little snack.  The way the light hit this pepper created a surface that made it sparkle.  I have always tried to find beauty in all things.  Today, I see it in a pepper.

Hello,

I have finally finished up my homework for the night and I wanted to post today's pic.  I am so proud of myself.  I made this delicious stuffed pepper soup.  I saw the recipe in a flyer I received from Giants food store.  It was so easy to make and low calories too.  Now, for those of you who do not know me, I am a terrible cook.  I remember once being a better cook in my younger years and I don't know what happened.  I decided to try again.  I followed the recipe (if anyone would like the recipe just let me know) I popped it in the crock pot, and nine hours later SOUP.....   and guess what?   It is Delicious.  I am very happy and encouraged to continue cooking.

Hi,

Now that I am back to teaching dance seven days a week, you will probably see a lot more of my students, as they are easily accessible for me to shoot.  Today's image is of one of my very talented students.  Shawnna is her name, Starbucks is her game.  lol   Competition rehearsals begin at 10:00am.  Sometimes a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do to get ready to go through the torture and pain that I usually lay down during these high paced rehearsals.  As you can see, Shawnna might need another shot of cappuccino to really get started lol.  Thanks Shawnna for letting me share your warm up and stretching methods for early rehearsals.

Hi again,

Here is part two of my "Love" series.  As little girls we are told, find a boy who is nice, fall in love, get married and have lots of babies.  Maybe that is not the case so much these days, but I know so many little girls who still have this dream.  Sometimes this road to happiness is split in many directions, but if in the end it leads to the man or woman of your dreams, then it is a road well traveled.  Today's picture I call "Patience", because, sometimes it takes a lot of patience to pursue, work at, and fulfill your dreams.

Hey guys,

Ok, I am going to get a little sentimental here....I have been thinking a lot about this Valentine's thing.  I know a lot of men and women, and even boys and girls who view this holiday very differently.  I have those who think of it as just another day; other's that wait in anticipation to find out what their loved ones are going to get for them.  I have been pretty indifferent about the holiday myself, perhaps because of my sad relationships, or perhaps because of the examples of failed or tumultuous relationships I witnessed in my lifetime.  With that being said, I think it really prepared me to recognize when I see a relationship that does work.  My next few posts hopefully will tell a story.  It starts with love and ends with a blessing......Maybe I shouldn't say end, better words may be...beautiful beginnings.

Hello,

     While teaching my yellow 1 class, (ages 2-5), the children were selected to help me with my special Valentine's Day picture project.  The catch was that they had to be very quiet, and sit patiently until their name was called.  I am so proud to say that each and every one of their names got called.  This gave me a lot of choices for my picture of the day.  Although they were all very cute and we had a great time, this little cutie, Miss Sophia Ozard, got the job.  I selected this picture because of the little rhinestone heart on her leotard, ....oh and well she is a cutie patootie!!!  :)  Don't you agree?

Here is a pic that I posted to facebook last month.  My two nephews, Adiel and Adyn.  I love this pic because it is just fun.  I took about eight pictures of these two, and this was the only one that worked.  They thought it was funny to wait until I was about to shoot and then turn their head.  I figured, I should just go with it.  Love this picture, and love these two boys.

Hello Everyone,

     Today I want to wish my beautiful daughter a very happy birthday.  It is hard to believe that I once held this precious young lady in my arms.  I suppose I could use this time to embarrass her by telling various stories of her childhood, but I won't.  I'd rather take this time to tell her how much I love her and to wish her the very best 2012 ever.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY JASMINE!!!

     As I was looking through to find a picture that I could post, I realized that I really do not have many of Jasmine as an adult.  I will have to remedy that pretty quick.  This is one I took a few years ago.  Those that know Jasmine, know that wherever Jasmine is Gel (her cat) is too.  I thought it appropriate to include Gel in this birthday wish too.  I also included a balloon boarder to add to the festivities.
