Here is a water fountain. Here I go again, water..... lol Sorry this post is out of order. That is what happens when you try to upload a whole month's worth of images at one time. lol
Well, here we are on the last day of September. This is an image that I had to use HDR on. It allows photographers to capture the highlights, shadows and mid tones all together in one image. I converted it to a selenium tone and here you go. :)
This was so much fun. I had to show distorted perspective. I asked Aaron to step on my car. lol He said "Ok". Aaron was very close to me and I shot him while I was lying on the ground. My car was about 500 meters away. His expression and the angle make it appear as though he is stepping on my car.
Here is one of my favorites from this class. I applied an overlay, added a split tone and a texture, Oh My!!!
I am trying to figure out where I would like to put this picture in my house. :)
Here come a series of pictures taken from one of my favorite classes to date. Digital design is the manipulation of digital images. At first, I thought it would be crazy, but it turns out that we were just learning how to make digital images look like "old school" processes. Things like, black and white, sepia, split toning etc. Here is a tree I found in Elizabethtown. I just applied a sepia tone to it.
This is Sophia's big sister Bella. Another beautiful child. How blessed am I to have so many beautiful young people willing to step in and help me out. So often, it is at the last moment. Whether they are two or 62, they come in with a smile and ready to work. I am truly Blessed.
Here, Bella just reminds us that there are times in life when you just have to dance. :)
Ahhh, Sophia! Who can resist this face. This is a fun little girl. She has such a big personality that really comes through in her pictures. I think you will be seeing a lot of this little one.
I had such a great time with this young lady. You can tell right? Liz, sporting her exquisite outfit Great job and thank you so much for helping me out.
Happy Birthday to my sweet niece Eliyana. Once you take one look at this beautiful little face, you fall in love. She is such a sweet and confident young lady. So proud of this little bit of sunshine. Have the best day ever and Aunt Sharon loves you dearly!!!!!
What can I say!!!! This is my dad. Love, love, love this man. He was so patient with me this day. He sat through my equipment not working, changing backgrounds, lights breaking etc. Thanks dad for posing for my first assignment in my portrait class.
On the ride back to the house, I caught this very serious face, thinking about all that he accomplished this day. This was Adiel's first trip in the boat.
This is the face of Adiel after falling in the river. He was fine, the water was not that deep, but being the big boy that he is, he wanted to walk alone. And well....down he went. Thank goodness, Mishi was right by his side the whole time.
Here they are walking in the river. Yep, these kids were fearless!!! Just in case you are wondering, I am in the boat. lol Don't get me wrong, I am brave too, but someone had to stay behind and take pictures. lol
The next few days I will be featuring images from one of the best days ever. It starts out with my niece and her Godfather, Aaron. Bring in Mishi, and nephew Adiel and we got a party going on. One of Leonyae's favorite past times is going out in the boat. Well, the kids got a special treat this day. Here you see them examining a crawfish they caught.
Speaking of the hurricane, this is the aftermath of that hurricane. A building near my home started falling down two weeks before the storm. Workers have been clearing the area but not in time for the storm. After the storm passed, the rest of the wall came tumbling down.
Here is the last flood picture. I am always humbled by the power of nature. To see water come so far out of their banks is remarkable. I am glad that we survived last year, and I am glad that we survived the hurricane of this year. The weather has become so unpredictable and strange. I think that we need to stand up and pay attention.
The next few pictures were taken on Front Street in Harrisburg, Pa. in Sept. 2011. I was in this area the week before, walking right where the water is.
The images from the next few days are from the flood of 2011. My studio and home were affected by the storm but nothing compared to so many others that lost all of their belongings, homes and livelihoods. So here we go.... This was taken in Middletown, Pa. I got this while I was trying to get out of Middletown. It was hard to believe that there was a waterfall coming down off of a bridge that I drive under almost everyday.
I love, love, love environmental shoots. Here is Stubby while working on her grandfather's farm. This was a quick shoot, but I was able to capture just a small part of Stubby's personality.
While walking along Front Street in Harrisburg, I made friends with some of these geese. It didn't hurt that I offered crackers. Just a note: don't let them see that the crackers are coming from your pocket, or they will try to help themselves. lol
This was a fun assignment. I melted freeze pops and poured different colors in an ice tray. I froze them again and shot a lot of pictures in various stages of thawing. Afterwards....I just added water...and drank. Yum
This was an ad series I did as a campaign to keep music in the schools. Nyah helped me out by playing a little rock and roll. Oh...did I mention she can sing her little face off too. (love this kid)
I am noticing that my images are placed in an order that matches how my brain works sometimes. Kind of all over the place. I go from nature, to fine art, to models and now back to fine art. Well....at least you won't get bored. lol
This is Michaele. She was the end result of my Vintage pin up shoot. My professor thought that she embodied the character and I agree with him. Thanks to Nivashi and Phil who made the fence and supplied some of the props for this shoot. Thank you Michaele and the rest of my models who helped me get an A.
Here is Gina, posing for the same class. Did I mention how blessed I am to have so many willing models who put up with all of the crazy things I ask them to do?
