Hi,

This was show day.  As I begin to catch up on all of the posts throughout the summer, I can say in hindsight that it turned out to be a fabulous show.  Everyone came together and put on performances of their lives.  I was so proud.  It was a wonderful conclusion to a remarkable season.  I wish that I had a picture of the cake that a few of the mothers had made for the cast, (it was beautiful).  But I must say that after denying myself cake for a few months, my eyeballs nearly jumped out of my head at the sight of the enormous, beautiful, purple cake.  Taking a picture of it was not on my to do list at that point in time.  After eating it, I must say that it tasted as good as it looked.  

This is an image of a cement mixer that was in a yard on my block.  I did a selective coloring on this picture because the mixer is really that color.  I wanted to take away the greenery surrounding it so that the unique patriotic mixer would stand out.  Why this family had a patriotic mixer in their yard; I just don't know, but it is really cool.

Hi,

This was rehearsal day.  Lots of students, small quarters, long day equals frustration, a few lost tempers and a promise to make it better tomorrow.  It happens every year but I was confident that everyone would rally together to put on a great show. (well....I tried to remain confident  lol)

On my trip to the cemetery, This colorful balloon weight was stuck in a tree.  I thought to myself....this was an odd discovery in such a somber place so I took a picture of it of course.

Hi,

Well this was the day we decorated the stage for our upcoming show.  It went a lot smoother than I thought (thank goodness).  

I took this picture in front of a church near my house.  I really like contrast as it occurs naturally.  The yellow against the white caught my eye  a block before I actually got to the church.

Hi,

I am not usually one who takes to photographing in a cemetery, however, I keep noticing these magnificent statues and stones.  I am drawn by the texture and artistry of the statues and by the serenity of the place itself.  You will probably see more of these in the future.

Hi,

It is close to showtime for the dancing school and everyone is pretty excited.  Since there was so much to do to get ready for the show, I had to keep my photographic excursions pretty close to home or the studio.  This is yet another bauble in my neighbor's yard.  She has some very cool things in her yard which I am pretty happy about.  It gives me ample subjects to photograph.

Hey,

Make a wish!!!!  I actually did not blow on these.  They are precariously balanced after a few flies and bees buzzed around the plants.  I was lucky that it was growing right in front of such a lovely backdrop.

Hey,

Here is another plant that lives outside of my house.  This one opens and closes all day long.  It's a little creepy and pretty all at the same time.  When it opens, it looks like the picture I posted for yesterday.
